We have some miscellaneous things to finish in class.

Wow! The last newsletter of the school year! As the year winds down I want to take the time to thank you parents for allowing me to work with your children. It was a busy year with lots of learning taking place.
Some summer tips – keep your child reading. This is vital to their development and growth. Keep a summer reading log. Continue practicing math facts. Students not passing their fact tests played a huge role in math grades third and fourth quarters. Students will have to know their facts for third grade so any extra practice before entering third grade is important. There are some great math sites online that you can take advantage of. Flashcards will also get the job done! Keeping a summer journal might be fun as well. This will continue handwriting practice as well as keep students sharp with writing sentences and paragraphs. I know sometimes we think of summer as a time of rest and fun, but it really is essential that you continue the learning process during this time. Some students cannot afford to take the summer completely off.
With that being said…we still have work to do this week! There will still be homework. It is important that students are still doing their work. I will be collecting it, and students who do not complete their work will go to Opportunity Club.
The fastest way to contact me is via email.
I will respond within 24 hours. You can also send notes on the green sheet.
